I downloaded the demo version of FL Studio 12 on the family PC in 2018. Making instrumentals, specifically rap and hiphop beats, was a really cool concept to me back then. The first artist I ever worked with was Big Barak from ON, Canada. We grew up together and went to high school together in Abu Dhabi, UAE. All we knew was that we wanted to make music and we just had to learn how to do it. Through messing around with the program, endless YouTube tutorials, and sounding like garbage 99% of the time, I can say that I'm a little less garbage. Anyway, that PC that I started with is still with my family to this day; it runs pretty slow though... HDD problems.... Check out Big Barak's music, though. Available on every platform.
I joined the collective 'Southrow' in September 2023. Our diversity is one of our strong points. Not everyone creates the same sound; creating this type of versality within the group that is unique and sets us apart from others. With a strong background in street/hip-hop dance and its various styles, the members make music with the encouragement of self-expression possible. We've tackled genres outside of hip hop such as: RnB, Reggae, Reggaeton, LoFi, Afrobeat, and Amapiano. Check out our music which is available on all platforms!
I want to make music that I like to listen to wherever I am. If I can't make that, it's time to take a few steps back and try until I make it. Making music that I don't replay at least 10 times after release is something I consider subpar. It doesn't matter if it's my own songs or someone else's songs; I can't reach that satisfaction without knowing that I created something with good replay value.
